The word “relax” sounds so friendly and positive. I like this word.

I like repeating it: “I need to relax a little bit, I want to relax my mind. As soon as possible I’ll try to relax”… and it’s ok, positive thoughts help us to stimulate what we need but…..now that I'm aware of my need to relax my mind, how can I do it?

This is the big question. Being aware of your need is essential but it’s important to know how to satisfy it.

One of my favourite ways to clear my mind is very simple and quick.

I do it when I feel overwhelmed by my thoughts.

STEP 1

Find a quiet place. Close your eyes and examine your thoughts. No judgments. No hurry. You observe them.

STEP 2

Which is the most important?

Focus on it, observe it.

STEP 3

When you are ready, take a deep breath and visualize your thought in a balloon. In my mind, the balloon is always red, but feel free to find your favourite colour.

STEP 4

Look at your balloon, it’s light and it’s moving very slowly.

Look at it while it floats away into the sky.

STEP 5

Now it’s a small spot in the sky.

Keep on looking at your sky. Now, It’s clear and blue, no clouds and no balloon.

STEP 6

Your sky is clear and so is your mind.

If another thought pops into your mind you can keep on visualizing other balloons until you feel calm and tranquil.

During your day, start to practise this simple exercise and after a while you’ll feel the benefits of a clear mind. You’ll feel in control of your thoughts.

Have a good day!
